a letter to the president.
I wonder what are your thoughts when you hear the pleads of the people. I wonder what you see when you look into their eyes. Millions of lives have been lost in this pandemic, some may be because of the virus, some may be because of hunger, some may be because of you.
As much as I am thankful for what you have done, I am more disappointed in what you have not done -- with your administration’s incompetency. If people do not die because of the virus, they die because of hunger, because of the lack of proper plans for this pandemic. It’s always 1 step forward and three steps backward for you, Mr. President. Thank you for approving the limited face-to-face classes, but I hope you also address other issues that should be addressed. So much has happened during your administration. Countless cases of police brutality, red-tagging, and violations of human rights. I hope you find it in the kindness of your heart to reflect and realize how many lives are in your hands.
This is a letter for you, Mr. President. It is coming from someone who has lost a loved one during this pandemic, was affected by the virus, has a family member that is a front liner. In some ways, I am affected by the decisions you have made. I have suffered from it. And there are more like me, they probably suffered more. I have one question for you, how can you sleep peacefully knowing that the lives you hold -- the lives the people have entrusted you with, are currently being affected badly by your decisions. Do their cries and pleads for justice, for Ayuda, for better governance not affect you?
sincerely,
Angelene.

Nice message, Angelene. Now, I'm already curious about how could the president sleep peacefully knowing that a lot of people are suffering due to his bad governance. Hopefully, if the President would read this, he would reflect the wrong doings he did during his administration and would still make a change
ReplyDeleteeven his administration was about to end.
This blog is very well-written. I love how bold yet true your statements are. The quote "It’s always 1 step forward and three steps backward for you, Mr. President." gave me the chills because that's what I'm precisely thinking. Yeah, sure, humans make mistakes but, a person like Duterte, a president of a country, shouldn't make those kinds of mistakes because there are severe consequences to his actions. Furthermore, I think it's clear that you know that you have a voice, and you aren't afraid to use it. I believe that one day, you could be the voice of the voiceless.
