AN EXPRESSION OF LOVE

 

Motherhood is something that should be celebrated, it deserves more than an ode, or a simple thank you. A specific date in the month of May has been considered Mother’s Day. A day to show our appreciation and love for our mothers; and those who we consider as mothers, despite not being biologically related. Our mothers are an important persona in our lives, we wouldn’t be who we are today without them. It is only deserving that on the second Sunday of May
, we celebrate the existence of all the mothers in the world.

Not everyone has the same way of celebrating Mother’s Day. Some celebrate it by giving or creating gifts for their mothers, and some celebrate it by acts of service. Each part of the world has its own traditions and ways on how they honor their mothers during this day, but we all share the same reason why; it is for appreciating all the sacrifices and love each mother has given their child. Most common gifts for mother’s day are flowers, letters, and cards. Social Media has also been a way for children to show their love for their mothers. Some celebrate mother’s day in churches or graveyards – spending their day with their mothers who are now in heaven. Reminiscing the memories they shared and telling her stories. Everyone has different ways of showing love, but it is most important to know that despite all, their love, gratefulness, and appreciation for their mothers will always be present. 

The second Sunday of May is one of the days mothers anticipate the most, for they are greeted with various messages telling them how much they are loved. And if I were to be asked, an ode, or flowers, or any material thing is not enough for me to show how thankful I am for every mother in the world.
